Skyven Achieves Certified COP 3.8 Efficiency in Zero-Emission Industrial Steam Project

1. Decarbonizing Process Steam Without Natural Gas

Industrial thermal processes account for over 20% of global greenhouse emissions, primarily driven by fossil-fueled natural gas and coal boilers generating low-to-medium pressure saturated steam. Skyven Technologies has pioneered the ArcaHeat™ high-temperature heat pump platform capable of generating 165°C saturated steam from industrial waste heat streams with a measured Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 3.8.

2. Thermodynamic Architecture & Integration

The system utilizes low-GWP refrigerants in a dual-stage centrifugal compression cycle with intermediate flash economizers. Low-grade wastewater from food processing blanchers or paper mill condenser loops at 55–65°C is utilized as the primary heat source, eliminating the need for cooling towers while supplying continuous 6.5 bar(g) steam.
